Our events are those with the “SLR” prefix.
Also on this Google calendar are other regional events, longer regional brevets & 1200Ks worldwide.
“??” means the date is unconfirmed.
ACP or RUSA is the sanctioning “level” of that brevet.
- April 12 (Sat.): Willard Bay Pop (100km, RUSA) or Willard Bay & Beyond Two (200km, ACP). This 60- or 125-miler is an out and back route that starts in Centerville (north of Salt Lake), goes through Brigham City to Corrine before returning. The route has been modified from last year with a new start point and no stop at the c-store in Willard (one less checkpoint to deal with).
- May 17 (Sat.): Back Roads of the Great Basin Pop (RUSA), Back Roads of the Great Basin Two (RUSA) or Back Roads of the Great Basin Three (ACP). This loop route goes in Saratoga Springs and goes through Vernon, Eureka, Nephi & then returns along the west side of Utah Lake. This year, the route has been modified slightly as the so-called Pony Express road is now unpaved. New this year is the addition of a 100k out-and-back route and a shorter 200k option. All routes start at the same time and place, so riders can work together until their route pulls away.
- June 21 (Sat.): Double Loop Four (400 km, ACP) & Yuba Res Three (300km, RUSA). Starting in Nephi, this 400k travels south to Koosharem, Junction & Richfield, in the center of the state. New this year, is a shorter 300 km option.
- June 25-28th or most likely July 9-12th: Red Rock Randonnée 1000/200 km (RUSA). This tentative event starts and finishes in Kanab Utah. It is planned as a 1000k brevet with a 200k permanent tacked on the end (but designed as a single 1200 km). It will travel into Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. RUSA membership may be required to ride the event.
- August 15-16th (Fri.-Sat.): Raspberry Ramble Three, Four and Six (300, 400, 600km, ACP). These routes start in Logan, the heart of beautiful Cache Valley. All three of these brevets start out together (with the same start time) via the LoToJa route, traveling up and over the Strawberry summit. The 400 and 600 go around Bear Lake (hence the name Raspberry as this area is noted for their famous raspberry shakes). The 600k, after an overnight stop back in Logan, will also make a 200k loop out to Golden Spike Historic National Monument before finally returning home.
These events are co-sponsored by Bonneville Cycling Club in Salt Lake City (BCC) and sanctioned by RUSA.
Also of note, there are several 1200k’s scheduled for this year outside of Utah.
Many thanks for our sponsors who have provided us with goodies and samples for each rider on these events:
